Storming the Wall

Worked from home today.  Had so many things on my To Do list.  Work-wise, I did great.  I've learned a very effective tool for working at home on days when the children have no school.  The boys wanted to play on the Wii this morning, and it was far easier to focus on my work than Super Mario Brothers.  They have a great time playing it, but it's definitely not a spectator sport.  After lunch, … [Read more...] about Storming the Wall

Sleet Day!

OK, that doesn't sound as cool as Snow Day, but you gotta work with what you've got. I was just thinking about the Best Laid Plans quote. The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry. (Robert Burns) I often forget that my best-laid plan can go awry easily.  Yeah, sometimes I can blame MS, and sometimes I can blame the kids, but when I'm being honest, I really just need to blame myself. … [Read more...] about Sleet Day!

Best Laid Plans…

So, the NaBloPoMo theme for March is Self.  And technically, my self has learned that yet again, I've signed up for something and haven't followed through on it.  Since it's after midnight, it's officially March 2, which means I will not officially blog every day in March.  Add one more item to the list of unfinished business. Whatever. One reason I didn't post was the unexpected treat … [Read more...] about Best Laid Plans…

I’m back!

Long time, no me. Thought I'd celebrate my fresh start with a fresh theme.  And with me, there's no surprise that it's purple.  For those of you just getting to know me, it's my signature color.  As the lone female in Boyland, I have to remind them from time to time that I am indeed a girl. So, what's been going on since my last post?  Well, I learned the hard way that if your insurance plan … [Read more...] about I’m back!

Selective Memory

Well, December 1st was a day of accomplishments.  Accomplished each goal (and even exceeded on a few) and even posted on Day 1 of NaBloPoMo. I don't think I'm the only person with selective memory.  With mine, I tend to put more emphasis on what I haven't done and less on what I have.  So even if I've been doing well, I'll find something to pick at myself.  I might not have done enough … [Read more...] about Selective Memory

Habits and Resolutions and Goals, Oh My!

Well, it's a month until New Year's Resolutions.  That means it's a month and a day before broken New Year's Resolutions. I know, I know, I'm cynical.  I speak from years of experience.  I've made and broken so many New Year's Resolutions.  Why?  For oh so many reasons: I'm too vague.  Be happier seemed like a reasonable enough resolution.  But what does happier mean?  And how do I know … [Read more...] about Habits and Resolutions and Goals, Oh My!
