As parents, we’re used to focusing on our kids.
Most of us have been beaten over the head with the airline oxygen mask analogy. In case you’re one of the three people who hasn’t heard it yet, here goes: During the emergency procedures talk at the beginning of the flight (which most people ignore anyway), the flight attendant instructs parents to put their oxygen masks first and then tend to their children. This analogy is meant to remind us that we can’t help other people unless we take care of ourselves.
